Want your kids to be fit and healthy? Be active with your family! Walk, run, or bike together. Keep screen time to the minimum and involve children in the shopping and cooking of foods for them to be aware of healthy options. More than anything, you must eat healthy as a family and lead by example. Here are a few quick pointers:
- Have a healthy start to your day – eat breakfast.
- Eat most meals together as a family.
- Schedule 3 balanced meals and 2 healthy snacks each day.
- Include in your child’s day a well-balanced meal including fruits, grains, vegetables, protein and low fat milk.
- Eat 2-3 servings of fruit and 2-3 servings of vegetables every day.

- Drink water. Limit juice, soda, and other sweetened drinks at home.
- Avoid getting fried, greasy snacks of visiting fast food restaurants.
