Do diet shakes work?

Research shows that diet shakes may help for a short term but is not a long-term weight loss solution or a sustainable eating plan. Though low in calories, they are often highly processed foods loaded with high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, and a bunch of other chemicals that will add fat to your body.

Another downside is that the diet may become repetitive and boring. It focuses on calorie restriction, but does not help you cultivate healthy eating habits or the importance of consuming a variety of nutrient-rich foods. For sustained weight loss, along with enough exercise, you need to develop healthy eating habits like meal planning and preparation.
