Choco-Banana Split

This smoothie is a real treat and is packed with nutrients. Studies have found that cocoa helps to regulate energy use and metabolism while increasing feelings of fullness. Bananas are a good source of fibre. High-fibre foods help you stay full longer, and help you consume fewer calories. Flaxseed is high in fibre, low in carbs, and contains omega-3 fatty acids, all which help weight loss.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ bananas
  • 1 ½ cups cold low-fat milk or soy milk
  • 2 tsp. honey or an organic sweetener of your choice
  • ½ tsp. flaxseed powder
  • 4-5 almonds or a nut of your choice (optional)

Method
