Carrots and other orange-hued vegetables are rich in vitamin A and beta-carotene, both of which fight inflammation. Turmeric has powerful anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties. Turmeric and black pepper is a powerful anti-inflammatory combination due to the compounds curcumin and piperine. Piperine enhances curcumin absorption. Oranges and orange juice are great additions to an anti-inflammatory diet. Ginger contains anti-inflammatory compounds that work in the same way as COX-2 inhibitors, which are drugs used to treat pain and inflammation.
