If you have decided to go raw for its weight and skin benefits, you may want to rethink. A raw food diet will help you lose weight by eliminating unhealthy, processed food from and helping you eat more high-fibre, low-calorie foods. But raw, vegan diet could be too low in protein. You can’t have legumes and whole wheat grains without high cooking. Or for that matter several vegetables! Can you eat potatoes, yam, broccoli, pumpkin, okra etc raw? Also, benefits of some foods like tomatoes, which have lycopene, can actually be enhanced by cooking. An ideal approach would be a mix and match of foods – some raw and some nicely cooked!
