Don’t Go On A Diet With Your Kid

If you believe that, in order to help your child lose weight, all of you as a family can go on a diet together to lead by example, you may want to rethink your strategy. No matter how overweight, a child needs to eat a variety of nutritious foods including those containing carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Adult diets, which typically eliminate entire food groups, are bad for children’s growing bodies. Most aren’t even healthy for adults! For example, high protein diets, that drastically limit carbohydrates, and very low-fat diets deprive children of healthy fats and protein that their bodies need for healthy body and brain development. It is very important that you speak to a paediatric nutritionist before making any drastic changes in your child’s eating habits.
