Chocolate lovers will be happy to know that dark chocolate, when you have it in moderation, is a healthy part of an anti-inflammatory diet. Dark chocolate is rich in polyphenols called catechins that have antioxidant properties. Antioxidants help reduce inflammation. The highest levels of catechins are found in dark chocolate made from at least 70% cocoa. Go for dark chocolate; it contains roughly 10 times more catechins and antioxidant activity than milk chocolate.
