Good Ol’ Oatmeal

Oatmeal has a good balance between carbs, protein and good fat. A half cup contains 3g of fat, 27g of carbs and 5g of protein. The low glycaemic index, combined with the presence of protein and fat, makes oatmeal a very slowly released carb – exactly what you’re looking for when you want to lose fat. Make sure you choose all-natural oats like rolled oats or steel-cut oats. Stay away from the sweetened and or flavoured oatmeal packets. You could also try barley, wheat, rye, oat bran and flax cereals or a multigrain combination.
