Energising Avocado Smoothie

Kick-start the day with this super-filling and energising smoothie. Fresh herbs are packed with alkalising nutrients that help cleanse the body, as well as support digestion and the immune system. Flaxseeds ensure a good dose of anti-inflammatory essential fatty acids. Cinnamon helps to naturally add sweetness and help digestive health.

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • ½ large ripe avocado
  • A spoonful of fresh coriander, mint or basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp flaxseeds (or tsp cold-pressed flaxseed oil)
  • 120ml almond milk/soy milk
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tsp raw honey (optional)

Method

  • Cut the avocado in half and scoop out the flesh using a spoon. Place in the blender. Peel, chop and add the banana.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and blend at full speed until deliciously creamy and serve. You can add ice cubes if you like it chilled.
