Too much fat in a diet can push out the healthier items. If children fill up first on fried foods and snacks, there will be less room and less desire for the healthy parts of the diet, like fruit and veggies. However, if your child’s meals begin with low-fat foods and fresh greens, with higher-fat items being reserved for the end, they will fill up on the healthy basics; and because this takes the edge off their appetite, there will be less risk of overeating higher-fat dishes.
