Overuse injuries are caused by overtraining for a long period of time. It gradually weakens an area of the body until exercise becomes painful or impossible. You can avoid such injuries by using proper techniques, the right equipment, correct footwear, a gradual increase of exercise frequency, intensity, and duration, and appropriate rest. Remember that it’s not the end of the world if you miss a day or two, or if you cut back on the number of minutes you’re supposed to work out. It’s more important to stay active. It will make it easier to get back to your routine.
