Grapefruit: Eating half a grapefruit before each meal may help you lose up to a pound a week! It can lower insulin, a fat-storage hormone, and that can lead to weight loss. It’s also a good source of protein, and because it’s at least 90% water, it can fill you up so you eat less.
Melon: If your goal is to keep losing weight, melon, which is rich in minerals like beta-carotene, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, iron, copper and zinc is the ideal fruit. Melon boasts laxative properties that help along digestion and avoid fat storage, which in turn prevents weight gain. Rich in fibre, it is also considered a belly-slimming fruit. It has a very low calorie count (38 calories/100g).
Bananas: Bananas are a slimming superfood. A slightly green, medium-size banana will fill you up and boost your metabolism with its 12.5g of resistant starch – even a ripe banana contains almost 5g of it.
Blueberries: Best known for their anti-ageing effects, blueberries, while tiny, are a powerful figure-friendly eat. A 1-cup serving is only 80 calories, and helps you feel full with 4g of fibre.
Pears: Pears are an excellent source of fibre, in addition to being a good source of vitamin C. A single medium pear contains nearly 24% of the daily fibre recommendations – and is only 100 calories. The fruit is also free of fat, cholesterol and sodium – and contains 190mg of potassium.
